Playa Dorada

Playa Dorada is one of the most popular beaches in Playa Blanca and one of the best places in southern Lanzarote for a traditional beach day. Located between the old town and Marina Rubicón, the beach combines golden sand, clear water and excellent facilities, making it particularly popular with families, couples and visitors staying in the resort.

The beach sits within a sheltered bay protected by curved breakwaters that help keep the sea relatively calm throughout the year. These conditions make Playa Dorada one of the safest and most comfortable swimming beaches in Playa Blanca, especially for families with younger children. The shallow water close to the shore is ideal for paddling and relaxed swimming.

Behind the beach, visitors will find a wide range of facilities including sunbeds, parasols, cafés, restaurants and shops. Watersports such as paddleboarding, kayaking and jet skiing are also available during much of the year. The beach’s central location means that most of Playa Blanca’s hotels, restaurants and attractions are within easy walking distance.

One of Playa Dorada’s greatest advantages is its position on Playa Blanca’s attractive coastal promenade. Visitors can easily combine a beach visit with a walk along the waterfront towards the old town, harbour or Marina Rubicón. On clear days there are also excellent views across the sea towards the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.

Although nearby Papagayo receives much of Lanzarote’s beach-related attention, Playa Dorada remains a favourite with many visitors because of its convenience, family-friendly atmosphere and easy access to resort facilities.

For those staying in Playa Blanca, Playa Dorada offers an excellent combination of comfort, scenery and accessibility, making it one of the resort’s most enjoyable beaches.
