The Brompton Oratory Church, officially known as the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is a prominent Roman Catholic church located in South Kensington, London. It stands adjacent to the Victoria and Albert Museum on Brompton Road and serves as the London Oratory, home to the Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri.

The church was constructed between 1880 and 1884 to accommodate the growing Catholic population in the area following the Catholic Emancipation Act of 1829. Designed by Herbert Gribble, it features an Italianate Baroque style inspired by Roman churches, with a grand façade including Corinthian columns and a large central dome rising to 51 metres (167 feet). The church is built predominantly from Portland stone, giving it a monumental appearance.
The interior is richly decorated, featuring marble columns, intricate mosaics, side chapels, and altars modelled on Renaissance and Baroque designs. The high altar, completed in 1952, is made of marble and onyx, and the sanctuary is noted for its large baldacchino supported by four marble columns. The church contains numerous side chapels dedicated to saints, including a chapel for St Philip Neri, the founder of the Oratorian order.
Brompton Oratory is known for its liturgical music and traditional Catholic services. The church maintains a professional choir and offers Latin Masses, including the Tridentine Rite, attracting worshippers and visitors interested in traditional liturgy and sacred music. The Oratory Fathers also operate educational and community activities from the church.
The church remains active as a parish and a London centre for Oratorian spiritual life. It is open to the public for services and private visits, with occasional concerts held in its acoustically resonant nave. Its proximity to cultural institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum makes it accessible to visitors exploring South Kensington.
The Brompton Oratory stands as a significant example of late 19th-century Catholic architecture in London, combining religious function with artistic and architectural grandeur.
