Alcudia and Port d’Alcudia

Alcudia is a historic town located in the northeastern part of Mallorca, Spain. Known for its well-preserved medieval walls, Alcudia has a rich history that dates back to the Roman period. The remains of the Roman city of Pollentia, which was founded in 123 BC, serve as one of the town’s significant historical landmarks.

Alcudia’s old town is characterized by narrow, winding streets filled with traditional stone houses. Its vibrant market, held on Tuesdays and Sundays, is a popular attraction, offering an array of local products, including food, crafts, and textiles. Other notable points of interest include the Church of St. Jaume and the Alcudia Museum.

A few kilometers from the town, you will find Port d’Alcudia, a lively resort town. It boasts a large marina and one of the longest beaches in Mallorca – a sandy stretch of over 7 kilometers. The beach’s shallow waters make it particularly popular among families.

Aside from the beach, Port d’Alcudia offers a range of amenities, including hotels, restaurants, shops, and a water park. The marina serves as a departure point for boat trips and also includes a commercial port with ferry services to Menorca and Barcelona.

Both Alcudia and Port d’Alcudia offer a mix of history, culture, and beach-based leisure, making them appealing destinations for tourists visiting Mallorca. Whether visitors seek historical exploration or beachside relaxation, these two locations cater to diverse preferences.
