Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is an iconic structure in the Minato ward of Tokyo. Standing at 333 meters, it was the tallest freestanding tower in Japan until the completion of the Tokyo Skytree in 2012. Built in 1958, the design of Tokyo Tower was inspired by the Eiffel Tower, although it stands 13 meters taller than its Parisian counterpart.

Constructed during Japan’s post-war economic boom, the tower initially served as a broadcasting tower for television and radio signals. Today, while it continues to function as a broadcasting tower, it is also a major tourist attraction, offering panoramic views of the city.

The tower features two observation decks: the Main Observatory at 150 meters and the Top Observatory at 250 meters. Both offer stunning views of Tokyo, and on clear days, Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance. The decks are accessible by elevators, while fitness enthusiasts can opt to climb 600 stairs to the Main Observatory.

At the base of the tower, FootTown houses various services including souvenir shops, restaurants, and a wax museum. Additionally, there is an aquarium and a four-story One Piece theme park, named after the popular anime series.
